Aim
The unpapelmenos.es website aims to be easy to use for everyone. That includes people with a disability, an old mobile phone or limited Spanish.
The aim is level AA of WCAG 2.2, the W3C’s international accessibility guidelines.
Current status
The website is new. A full accessibility review has not been carried out yet. When it is, this statement will give the result, the method and the date.
How it is built
The website is designed with these criteria:
- Sufficient contrast between text and background, in dark mode too.
- Keyboard use, with the focus always visible.
- Forms with labels on every field and error messages that explain what to correct.
- Language declared on every page, so that screen readers pronounce it correctly.
- Large buttons and links, easy to tap on a mobile phone.
- Colour is never the only signal. Notices also have text or an icon.
- Content pages that work without JavaScript. Only some tools need it.
- Plain language: short sentences, acronyms explained and official names with an explanation.
Known limitations
- The website is in Spanish, English, Catalan, French and Chinese. Support by WhatsApp, phone and email is offered in Spanish, English, Catalan, French and Chinese.
- Some legal texts are long. That is why they start with a summary.
- The interactive tools, such as the test to find out which procedure you need, require JavaScript.
- Some pages link to the authorities’ websites, whose accessibility does not depend on Un Papel Menos.
How to report a problem
If a page, a form or a document can’t be used properly, you can report it by:
- email: exactitudfiscal@gmail.com, with the subject “Accesibilidad” (Accessibility);
- WhatsApp or phone: +34 623 82 89 38.
It helps to say which page it was and what went wrong. The team looks into it and replies with what it is going to do. In the meantime, any information that can’t be read on the website is provided another way: in writing or by phone.
