How we work
Before we start, we tell you which procedure fits your situation, which documents you need and what it costs. Here you'll find what our price includes, what is extra, which part is done in person and what we do if the answer is negative.
What the price includes
Each procedure has a fixed price with VAT included. You can see it on the page for each procedure and on the prices page. Before we start, we confirm it in writing.
The price includes:
- A review of your case and your documents.
- Full preparation of your application file (expediente): the set of documents and written statements for your application.
- Replies to formal requests (requerimientos), that is, when the authorities ask you for something else.
- Follow-up until the decision, with an update on every development.
Some work that was not in the quote may come up. If that happens, we tell you beforehand and give you its price in writing. We don’t do it without your agreement.
What is extra
- Government fees. They are charged by the authorities, carry no VAT and are not part of our price. On each procedure page you’ll see whether there is a fee, with its form number (790-052 or 790-012), its amount and the estimated total cost.
- Documents requested from other bodies, in Spain or in your home country, and whatever they cost. For example, birth certificates, other certificates or the padrón (your town hall’s register of residents).
- Sworn translations and apostilles, if they are needed. We tell you before we start, never afterwards.
- The appeal for reconsideration (recurso de reposición), if your application is refused. It is a separate service, with its own price: see the appeal for reconsideration.
- Court proceedings. If the case has to go to court, you need a lawyer, with separate fees. We don’t handle court proceedings.
We don’t do these things either:
- Sell or get appointments. You book the fingerprinting appointment yourself, and booking it costs nothing. We explain how to do it.
- Asylum or international protection. We don’t handle it. We recommend a specialist organisation or a lawyer.
Before you hire us: guidance and case review
The first guidance on WhatsApp is free. You tell us about your situation in a few lines. We tell you which procedure fits your situation and what it costs. You don’t need to send any documents.
The case review costs 60 € VAT included. It is for when your situation needs more detail. A member of the team goes through it with you by video call or phone. At the end, you have:
- the procedure that fits your situation;
- the list of documents you need;
- a fixed quote in writing.
If you hire us for the procedure within the next 30 days, those 60 € are deducted from its price. We explain all of this before you book the review.
How to get your documents to us
- Never on WhatsApp or by email. On WhatsApp we talk about your situation and dates, nothing more.
- Through a secure channel that we give you. When documents are needed, we tell you how to send them with protected access.
- In person, only if it were ever necessary. We would tell you and agree it with you. We don’t have a space open to the public.
We never ask you for your NIE (foreigner identity number) or your passport, either in the form or in messages. Nor for your criminal records or health information. If you send us a message, don’t include them.
What is done remotely and what is done in person
Remotely. The guidance, the case review, preparing the application file and the follow-up. We talk on WhatsApp, by phone, by email or by video call, whether you live in Barcelona or anywhere else in Spain.
In person, and only you. Fingerprinting for the TIE (foreigner identity card) is done at the Policía Nacional (Spain’s national police), with the appointment you book yourself. That part cannot be done remotely.
What you request yourself from other bodies. Some documents have to be requested by each person, for example the padrón certificate at your town hall. We tell you which ones they are and how to request them.
Which languages we speak
We help you in Spanish, English, Catalan, French and Chinese. If you write to us formally, we reply formally.
We give you the quote and the contract terms in Spanish or in Catalan, whichever you prefer. The website is in Spanish, English, Catalan, French and Chinese.
How we use artificial intelligence
- The texts on this website are written with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). Each page says so. Until a member of the team has reviewed it, the page is shown as a draft.
- AI helps us write and organise texts. It does not decide anything about your case. It does not choose your procedure, approve anything or calculate your chances.
- If a message we send you was prepared with the help of AI, we tell you. A member of the team reviews it before sending it.
- There is no automatic AI chat. The first message you receive on WhatsApp is automatic, and it says so.
If your application is refused
The decision always rests with the authorities. Our job is to make sure your file arrives complete and well explained. If the answer is negative:
- We explain what the decision says and what options you have.
- Appeal for reconsideration (recurso de reposición). This means asking the same authority to review its decision. If you have received a written decision, you have 1 month from the day after you are notified (Law 39/2015, arts. 30.4 and 124.1). It is a separate service, with a fixed price before we start: see the appeal for reconsideration.
- Court proceedings. To go to court, you have to file a judicial review appeal (recurso contencioso-administrativo). For that you need a lawyer (Law 29/1998, art. 23). It is a separate service that we don’t provide.
If you’re not sure who does what, read the guide Gestoría or lawyer for immigration matters? (a gestoría is a firm that handles paperwork with the Spanish authorities). We are neither of the two: we are a private service for immigration procedures.
Our timeframes
We only give you timeframes that depend on us:
- Before we start: we tell you which procedure, which documents and what it costs.
- When we have all your documents: we tell you the date your application file will be ready.
- After that: we let you know about every development until the decision.
We don’t promise timeframes for the authorities. The law gives them a time limit to decide each procedure, and you’ll find it on the page for each one. Sometimes they take longer. If the time limit passes without a reply, we explain what options you have.
You can message us on WhatsApp at any time, 24 hours a day, every day. A member of the team will reply.
